What is the Meaning of Life?
By: B Weiser

Perhaps the most important question anyone can answer in the course of their existence is: What is the Meaning of Life? It almost seems a universal conundrum that no one seems to understand exactly but everyone wants to know the purpose for occupying space on this planet. Perhaps if we can clarify this subject and find a workable solution to this problem, we could add unspeakable value to the life of the reader. So where do we even begin, to break this subject down into some kind of comprehensible components? Let's start by asking some more questions.

Is the meaning of life some static standard that remains the same for everybody or is it individual and different for everyone? Perhaps it is both but depending on your frame of reference it appears as one or the other. To illustrate this point let us use the example of a spoked bicycle wheel. If we examine this form we find it is composed of 3 main elements. These are 1. The outer rim 2. The spokes themselves and 3. The inner hub. The outer rim represents where everyone is, who is wondering about the Meaning of Life and the Hub represents the actual Meaning of life. Now when people on the outer rim decide to pursue the meaning of life they get off the rim and begin to travel towards the hub. This path they take toward meaning is represented by the spokes on the wheel. So although the meaning of life remains the same and everyone's path ends at the same place. Since everyone is starting out from a different point of origination, their process remains unique to their relationship along the way to the hub.

So it would seem by this example that the meaning of life is always the same but the path whereby one pursues that meaning is different for everyone, making it appear original. So if this example is accurate then it seems probable that we could determine what the absolute meaning is and then reverse engineer it to our own relative meaning. So just how might that work you may be wondering?

Now we run into the real problem with the meaning of life and that is finding a symbolic reference (word) of universal consensus that actually represents and expresses the meaning of life with indisputable clarity. Of course the only adequate label to use would be God, but with everyone thinking they know what that word means it is bound to be corrupted. A simple equation might be more accurate but without using numbers, then the clumsy bumbling tool of words must be implemented. So we select God as the word of choice, recognizing that we must first deal with the definition of that label before we can use it.

Some great church council got together back in the day and purported to have answered the question: What is the ultimate goal of man? That sounds a lot like the question we are asking and I rather like the conclusion they come up with. They decided that the ultimate goal of man was: To Know God and Enjoy Him Forever. Now this does not solve our dilemma of how to define God but it does point us in that direction. First it assumes God can be known both personally and universally. Second it sets Joy as the standard by which that relationship is consummated. Also by putting our enjoyment on this side of Him and Forever it installs just enough immensity to ensure that it remains Trans-conceptual. Now we have the makings for a definition of God that I think we can work with.

One distinction that should clarify things a bit more is this: Anytime we use the term God it is always in reference to the Love of God. God has Power but God Is LOVE, thus God will use what He has to express Whom He is. So any definition of God that is not directly and intimately connected to the Love of God should be discarded at this point. Only by understanding the Love of God can God be understood because that is who He is. Only by this understanding do we dare subject God to our definition. Like we said, people think they know what this word means, and that is their problem!!! That might explain why there are so many on the rim and so few serving as spokes and even less at the hub.

So have we defined God yet? Maybe and maybe not, we have defined Him Trans-conceptually which is in Truth, but without a conceptual limit to call your own, you can't play the mortal game. So it seems we still have some work to do. The Love of God will never do because the Love of God can NEVER be defined and that is why we like it so much. To define God as other than Love for the purpose of mortal speculation is acceptable if we recognize up front that this is what we are doing, least we mistake the false for truth. We could define God as Spirit, but then we would have to define that and so on ad infinitum. For all the years we have been putting words on the unspeakable, you would think there would be some common and simple reference we could use to define God outside of His Love. But no, still nothing, so it would seem futile to continue, and it seems as well that we will just have to address the aspects of Love instead.

The Big Churchmen of back in the day used Joy as their primary aspect, and that is appropriate for the Ultimate Goal. But Joy needs a foundation and if we want to start at the beginning of exploring God's Love, we must start with Peace. Peace is the very bottom of the scale on the Measure of God (Except for the subscale of Forgiveness). This is True because everything opposed to peace is false being alienated from the Love of God. So it would seem to be here we must start to properly resolve this inquiry.

Peace is the only acceptable standard for any definition of God as the Peace of God is never disturbed. Peace is bottom scale because it is the background upon which the entire scope of God is built. Without this foundation there is nothing to build upon except deception. Without Peace there is no understanding of God. Could that be why there are so many mortal churches out on the rim? So anyhow Peace is that Important, but we cannot park here forever, we need to get back to the nature of our question.

Peace is the first line of definition for God; Peace exercised produces Joy and Joy expressed produces Love. When you scale God down to the mortal level for the purpose of definition: That seems to be about as good as it gets. Even if this definition were wrong (Which it's not) it would still be a good one. So let's use it.

So now, what is the meaning of life and how does our new definition relate to it??? Let's say that the meaning of life is to discover your Absolute Self and our new definition of God is exactly how you go about doing just that. Gee, now that we all know the meaning of life it sure does seem simple. But reading a book about changing your spark plugs is not the same as doing it; although the more times you tune up your car the better you get at it. So now that you've got the key to the meaning of life go ahead and build some skill in using it by transforming the world.
